The Prajnopaya Foundation, in partnership with the Medical Division of Siemens Inc., held multi-day Hearing Screening Camps in April 2007 in Bihar. The Foundation will provide hearing aids to poor children and the elderly at a subsidized cost. Although not usually considered a prominent issue, hearing, like vision, continues to weaken as one ages especially in the absence of necessary interventions. For young children of school age that suffer from hearing impairments it is of utmost importance to recieve these hearing aids which will allow them to stay in school and enjoy the benefits of a full education.

Upaya Care Free Clinic:

Prajnopaya has set up small free clinics providing medicine and general care for residents in the villages of Rajghir, located near the foot of Vulture Peak, and in Vaishali. Local doctors have volunteered their services, while Prajnopaya has provided the logistics and medical supplies. We are planning additional similar clinics based on this pilot program. The clinics are partially supported by their local communities with crucial additional support coming from your donations.
